HISTORY
Carr Concrete began in 1974 when Stephen and Rodney Carr purchased Marietta-Wilbert, Inc. located in Marietta, OH. The original and only product was precast burial vaults. The company soon began to expand it's market share until they saturated their franchised market territory. Around 1980 the company began to diversify into other precast products including agricultural products, septic tanks and cisterns.


In 1985 the company became Carr Concrete Corporation of Ohio. Product lines continued to expand into steps, lightweight air conditioner pads, curb bumpers and smaller custom products.

1988 saw growth into a second corporation, Carr Concrete Corporation of West Virginia. A portion of the current facility at Waverly, WV was purchased and primarily produced the air conditioner pads until 1990 when the burial vault business was moved there. The Marietta, OH plant began to produce industrial products such a manholes, storm sewer inlets, median barrier, utility vaults, concrete buildings and heavier custom products.

In 1992 the rest of the current facility was purchased and all of the operations were located under one roof. The Ohio Corporation was dissolved and the West Virginia Corporation was renamed to Carr Concrete Corporation. The larger facility allowed Carr Concrete to increase both the volume and size of custom products produced.


1994 saw the purchase of an additional 61 acres at the Waverly location for future expansion. Carr entered the bridge beam and box culvert business with the completion of a 16,000 square foot facility in 1998.

In 2001, R.W. Sidley, Inc. of Painesville, OH purchased Carr Concrete. A new dock facility was soon thereafter completed, increasing Carr's ability to manufacture larger custom products.
